FINDING RELATIONSHIPS

You find a lasting relationship when you are not actively looking for it.

Adam was busy doing what God had commanded him to do and he did it so well that God had to stop him and give a wife. If you read Genesis 2:18, it is God who actually said that it is not good for man to be alone and he would therefore make him a helper.

Single-hood is a very important stage of life. What is quite interesting is that instead of doing something with their single-hood, most single people are doing something about it. Singleness is God’s gift to every young person and should be treated as so. Having a wife, husband, girlfriend or boyfriend is not an end goal of life.

Ruth was not looking for a husband, especially after the death of her first. She was simply going to glean in the field among the reapers and it happened that she was working in the field of Boaz, in whose eyes she found favor and, who later became her husband.

Single-hood is a time for you to be more concerned with the affairs of the Lord, to grow in purpose, to know yourself more and prepare adequately for the person God will divinely connect you to. Single-hood is a foundation for marriage.

I dare say this, you can predict your marriage by how you live as a single person. Most singles think that when they marry, a lot of their lives’ aspects will change. What they should know is that marriage only amplifies who and what you are. Marriage only magnifies who you were in your single season.

As such, instead of trying to correct God for being single, why don’t you seek to understand what He wills for you to do in that season? This is a time to invest in yourself especially in the mission filed where He has called you into. Do not rush the process.

Be like Adam. Be so busy working on your mission that God will have to interrupt you to give you your mate.
